A splintered Supreme Court displayed its deep divisions over the separation of church and state Wednesday, with the court's prevailing conservatives signaling a broader openness to the idea that the Constitution does not require the removal of religious symbols from public land. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/28/AR2010042801949.html The Christian cross that depicts the crucifixion of the mythical Jesus Christ is not a religious symbol. It isn't? That will come as a huge surprise to many of the churches, although I doubt they will look a gift horse in the mouth. |
