Sorry? I don't get it, I suppose because I don't recognize "outkast"?

Never could stand amateur singing, actually. Especially off-key sorts.

I've heard of the group Outkast, but I don't know anything about them. So I don't 'get it' either. I suppose it has something to do with old people singing young people's "music".

I guess I'm just not "hep" enough.Grin

I am familiar with the song, what a hot mess. Reminds me of this.

I was afraid I was the only old guy who didn't get it, here.... Grin

It's just a song that's was popular. Mostly because of a video with the Peanut's gang that got pulled from the internet, but still gets circulated every so often. Here is the LINK to the original youtube song if you want to see it. Another controversy over this song was the line "shake it like a Polaroid picture" in which Polaroid had to tell people not to shake their pictures. The entire little drama from this simple song was kind of like a nation wide soap opera. I do kind of like the song though...

Edit: well, here is the LINK for the Peanut's gang one. I guess whoever was pulling it stopped.

Other tidbits:

- The song went triple platinum

- It was the #1 billboard hot 100 for nine weeks

- The video was supposed to be shown in sequence with "The Way You Move" and has another section seen in "The Outkast: The Videos DVD."

- In the video, the entire band is Andre 3000. That's not your eyes going bad.

Great, now I'm on an Outkast kick. Well, I think my favorite Outkast video would have to be "Ms Jackson". I think it might be the animals more than anything.

Edit: Then again, "So Fresh So Clean" is pretty visual and fun. I like his music.

Outkast annoy me. Though I find huge comic value in the choir singing a rap song. Maybe next time they can move on to NWAs "Straight Outta Compton" or how about Eminem's "Kim"?

I like Outkast and Ludicris, more for the comedic content of some of their songs and videos.

Yes, the videos are definitely humorous.
